The Penguin Archive is based on the third-party database application "Memento Database". The app is a commercial product that is continually updated and supported. However, the expanding functionality also introduces new issues - especially when it comes to the PRO-Licence which is essential for the Penguin Archive to work as it allows to link an unlimited number libraries to Google Sheets
If you have purchased a PRO-licence but it no longer registers after a app update: Do not purchase a new PRO Licence! Get in touch with Thomas first!
1. Why disable updates?
Recent updates tto the Memento app have resulted in major issues due to a purchased PRO-License no longer being recognized after an update to the Memento app. This results in laborious troubleshooting and may even require for users to contact te Memento support to request a new licence key. This can be avoided by disabling the automatic updates of the Memento app - provided the PRO Licence is still active.
2. Find app in Play Store
On the phone with the Memento app, open the Google Pay store.

1. Click on the profile image in the upper right corner.
2. Tap "Manage apps and device".
3. Tap "Manage".
4. Scroll through the list of installed apps until you find Memento; tap the app name.
3. Disable auto-updates
Once you have navigated to the app's Play Store screen you can disable the updates for Memento. Note: this won;t affect any other app updates on the device.

5. Tap the three vertical dots in the upper right corner of the screen.
6. In the drop-down panel untick the check box titled "Enablde auto-update"
You can now close the Play Store app; Memento updates are disabled.
